RAMADAN KAREEM

Ramadan Starts today. All cafes and restaurants will be closed until after sunset and non Muslims are asked not to eat or drink, dance, sing or play music in public. Schools will be open in the mornings only, and many Muslims have a shorter working day.

The hardest thing for me, will be to remember not to have a cup of tea or coffee in front of a colleague. Or ask them if they want one.

Here is the Wiki explaination:
Ramadan (Arabic: رمضان‎) is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, sexual conduct, smoking, and indulging in anything that is in excess or ill-natured; from dawn until sunset [1] Fasting is meant to teach the Muslim patience, modesty and spirituality. Ramaḍān is a time to fast for the sake of Allah, and to offer more prayer than usual. During Ramaḍān, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.
