BARGAINS!

Loads of sales around at the moment.  Mostly not the stuff I want, but every now and then we strike gold.   I bought very expensive red sheets at 75% off.  Today Tim got Lilli her school bag for next year.  Was 160dhs($50), now 40dhs($12). And a cabin bag was 405dhs($125), he got it for 105dhs($30)!!!  My only regret is that I didn't find it myself.  I LOVE a good deal!

BABY JANE

Baby Jane and her mama.

I went to a lovely baby shower yesterday.  Our friends Darren and Debbie and 6year old Charles, finally brought home their new baby, Jane, from Ethiopia.

Jane is six months old but is only marginally bigger than Lilli was when she was born!  She is adorable.

Yummy food

I made a pavlova and got so many compliments - I should make them more often.

There was no shortage of 'aunties' to give Jane cuddles.  We had to play nice and take turns.  I want one!

YAY - TOFU!

It is becoming increasingly more difficult to feed Lilli any flesh food other than tuna (canned).  So we are going to eat more vegetarian meals.  On the menu tonight - Gado Gado and Nasi Goreng.  She was very excited when I told her we were having tofu. Tim was equally excited (not).

MY NEW EASEL

I was given a voucher by some of my children at the end of the year and today I used it to buy this easel.  It is the perfect size.  No excuses now for not finishing this project for Lilli that I started, ooooooh, 2 and a half years ago.  At the time it was life size and I was going to incorporate a height chart and hang it at her height.  Not sure if I will continue in that direction or not - Lilli is going to give me some suggestions tomorrow.

Here she is, letting you all know through gesture, that this is a picture of her.

...BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE CATS?

The fire-alarm went off this morning as it does quite often.  Lilli got quite upset and took a bit of reassuring.  So we get into the car.  "If there is a fire or something what plan do we have for the cats?"  Ahhh.  Well, I say that it is very unlikely. "But if it happens what will we do?  We can't pick them up because they will be very scared and scratch us and try to get away".  And so the conversation goes, we talk about death and leaving people behind.  We come up with a fire plan for the cats - we will try and get them down the fire escape but if we can't then we will fill a bath with water and hope they hop in (well, what else can I say?).  Then at the end of the conversation she says she got scared because of tv.

Well I KNEW it! Bloody Du sticking shorts with highlights of the next month of horror movies slap bang in the middle of a children's movie! God forbid kissing but extreme violence is fine.  Then she adds, that she got scared after watching 'The Doctors' - 'The Doctors'!  Didn't see that one coming.  Apparently they were discussing fire escape plans and it scared her and thats why she doesn't want to sleep with the door closed anymore.

Thank fully the cats seem quite relaxed about it all.
